Did you know: finding a new place to live is hard. I have done it before and it is never something that is enjoyable or simple. I have to be out of this present place by the end of the month, so the next week or two will mostly be devoted to calling around and scouring places like Craigslist. Terrors!

Page 23 was an attempt at perspective. I’ve tried, mostly unsuccessfully, to render buildings in the past, and the conversation for this particular page seemed to lend itself to a wide, distant view.
This week, unlike last, proceeded as planned and lacked any missing or delayed posts. I hope to keep that up! Two new characters were introduced, new orders were learned, Bill made a friend, and Mim picked up some…stuff.
With Greensville behind Cold Bill, Chapter 1 – A Fine Beginning is at last coming to a close. Monday I will have a transitional page, officially closing Chapter 1 with a recap of its events and, perhaps, a hint of what is to come. Then come Wednesday the story will pick up right where it left off and Chapter 2 will swing into action. Be back Monday!

I don’t think that Monday’s turned out as well as I wanted. I sketched the idea a few times and thought it looked ok, but I think it ended up being very bland compared to the one before and after. Maybe I’ll redo it some time. Page 22 turned out good at least. Back to regular updates! No more hiccups I hope.

Oh no there is no new page ready for Friday, I am so sorry! Maybe I will make a fresh start Monday and we will just write this week off? There was a steady stream of events nightly that completely distracted me from getting any work done. I hope to get caught up over the weekend at the very least. I don’t plan on quitting this project, I just didn’t have the time for it this week. Next week: better! Faster! Stronger!

Today starts the Monday-Wednesday-Friday format. The posts should be the same as before, just two less a week. I hope it doesn’t make story progress seem to slow to a crawl. If so…maybe check Mondays for three pages at a time?
I mentioned when Mim first showed up that her design took a lot of time to finalize. I’m satisfied with the results, but some of the details of her garb take a long time to render in cut paper. For instance, today’s Mim has about 26 individual layers(though it took about 30 total, with some merged into others for the final). I liked how the animation of page 10 turned out, so I made an animation showing all of the layers of Mim coming together: Page 20 Mim Assembly.
Maybe I will make one for each of the main characters.
